This Transformer concept phone by Shkinder Maxim looks sleek and futuristic and can do much more than the average mobile device. This design won the Tancher Design Award 2008. It is capable of not only a mobile phone with photo/video camera but also as a projector with holographic imaging and 3D scanning (e.g storing a 3D image of an object into the memory and could even project the exact holagram of the object later on).

Engadget had an exclusive look at the Meizu prototype handset of the M8 mini One’s UI and feature set. The M8 Mini One is slated to be released in six months and there are still some problems such as rubber banding scroll bars, finger flick gestures though Meizu claims that the issues exist because of the plastic display which was quicky cobbled up for the purpose of the CeBIT demo.

The Chinese iPhone clone, Meizu M8 now comes in an all black color in the latest published photos from Cmno.com of China. Got to admit that the new color looks great and with a new interface, it could offer some real competition to Apple’s iPhone. The new UI for playing songs adds more detailed album artist information as well as interface improvements as seen from the screenshot.

Onyx, a new UK company, hopes to have a share in the market of trendy phones with the introduction of its new Liscio device. Not only does this phone attract fashion-conscious users, to all bulksick phone users, the Onyx Liscio is one good grab with its petite size measuring 90mm x 35mm x 17.8mm and lightweight at 60g.
The major drawback of this device would be the fact that it is not equipped with a camera and has a 1.10 inch display at 96 x 96 pixels that is definitely not good enough to enjoy a good movie.
Other features include an FM Radio, MP3 player, Micro SD card slot, 128 MB internal memory, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and Polyphonic ringtones.
The Onyx Liscio is available in the UK for £129.99 ($ 255).

Designed by Cris Owens, this concept fashion phone known as Edge uses touch and light technology for a fashion oriented design. It has an easily noticeable glowing glass keypad that can be slided out when needed, be it in times of answering an incoming call or even trying to make an outgoing call. The glowing effect is caused by an embedded LED illuminating the etched numerics via refraction where the only visible lines is the microphone wiring disguised as the keyboard border.

Initially, the LG Rumor experienced launch delays and stock shortages and to top all these problems, Sprint is now stopping the shipment of the handset to its retail stores, putting a halt on the sales of the phone while it fixes the error with the phone’s firmware. The debugging menu that was meant for engineers was left active in the firmware thus enabling accidental access when navigating the main menu or dialing numbers. Upon activation, this debugging menu will wipe the phone and the phone will be required to be sent back to the factory to reinstall the firmware.
The LG Rumor will not be sold by Sprint until the problem is fixed and applied to existing stock of Sprint LG Rumor handsets.
