Motorola Q2 With Palm OS Is A False Alarm

A blunder made by Sprint’s graphic designers by using a Palm OS screen shot on the Motorola Q2 set rumors spreading like fire that it is going to run on a Palm OS nstead of Windows Mobile. The photoshopped Palm screen is a false alarm and in fact, a blessing because no one’s up for a Palm-powered Moto.

According to Sprint, this handset is priced at USD149.99, comes with Bluetooth technology, e-mail text and instant messaging, features that manage your calendar and contacts and most importantly, runs on a Windows Mobile *6.

Motorola U9 Officially Announced

The Motorola U9, officially announced, is a typical 88g lightweight clamshell phone measuring 90 x 49 x 16mm from Motorola that comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera, microSD expandable memory and a 1.4″ 128 x 160 touch sensitive OLED external display. On the inside, the TFT display measures 2.0″ 240 x 320 pixel as well as improved keypad with raised ridges making it easier to use.

The multimedia support on the Motorola U9 comes sufficiently equipped with a music player that supports WMA, Mp3, AAC and DRM. It is also able to play MPEG4, 3GPP and h.263 video. Although the internal memory is limited at 25MB, the phone memory is easily expandable up to 4GB using a microSD card.

Motorola said that the Motorola U9 will be available during the Q4 of 2007 in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Available in limited quantities, the special edition of the Motorola RAZR2 comes with gold plated accents standing out against a luminous, black slate, vacuum metal finish. Its back side is, on the other hand, embossed with a snakeskin effect.

The Motorola RAZR2 also offers a full suite of in-demand features such as a 2.0 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, video capture and playbacks, full HTML browser and Crystal TalkTM technoology. It has up to 2GB of onboard storage for up to 1,000 songs whereby music experiences have been maximized.

Motorola RIZR Z6tv Available At Verizon Wireless Stores

It has been announced by both Verizon Wireless and Motorola that the Motorola RIZR Z6tv will be available on the 5th October 2007.

The Motorola RIZR Z6tv is able to provide 24 hrs access to broadcast quality full length TV shows through V Cast Mobile TV from Verizon Wireless. With VCAST Music, users are kept connected and allowed download from a library of more than 2.1 million songs.

It comes with an EV-DO slider, a 2 inch QVGA display, 2.5mm stereo jack, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD memory and multimedia player for music and videos.

This Motorola RIZR Z6tv will be available for $179.99 after a $50 mail-rebate and new two-year customer agreement.

The evolved Motorola U3 PEBL that strikes a distinct resemblance to Motorola’s previous U6 model, comes equipped with a VGA camera, 128 x 160 screen, has EDGE support (in addition to GSM), possessing a clam-shell size of 7.5 x 49 x 22.2mm and weighs about 105grams.

Looking good in its stylish pink exterior, this model is more likely to hit the markets of fashion-conscious ladies who are set on a budget constrain rather than manly guys who would rather be found dead than be caught with one of it.

Critics found this model too thick to be slipped comfortably into the pocket and also voiced out the critical need for Motorola to upsize their miniature screen in their next launching of a new Motorola model.

The Motorola ROKR W5 is an addition to the Motorola ROKR U9 which is a music clamshell with leaked specs sheet that it is a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) GPRS/EDGE compact (99×46x17) with 1.3 megapixel camera and a 1.9 inch 176×220 pixels internal display. The Motorola ROKR W5 in addition also has a mini USB, 20MB internal memory and a microSD slot. Well more news on it when it comes out.

Motorola INSTANTMOTO Vending Machine

Motorola has announced that it will be testing the sales of phones and accesories directed to consumers through automated vending machines. The machines are operated by Zoom Systems and will be located at high traffic areas. The vending machines are branded as ‘INSTANTMOTO’ in approximately 20 locations usch as airports and malls across the US by November this year.

Motorola Mobile Gaming Partners China’s Shanda Interactive

Motorola Inc and Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd has partnered together to provide games on the Motorala E680g model. Subscribers would be able to subscribe to two of Shanda’s games ‘World of Legend’ and ‘Magical Land’ by paying 15 yuan a month per game. (around 2 USD a game) The revenue for the games will go to Shanda. The partnership also sets a six month exclusivity arrangement where Motorola will no license games from Shanda’s competitors.
