Palm Claims New WebOS Development Eases Developers

Palm Pre

The Palm Pre phone is a few months from launch and Palm is wasting no time luring developers onto its new operating system. According to Palm, developing for its new webOS will be much easier than other mobile platforms because it only requires programmers to know Javascript and CSS which are much simpler to learn than other mobile programming language.

Palm introduced its webOS operating ystem at a teleconference tutorial where Palm CTO Mitch Allen demonstrated a quick way to build an application. Developers can even use existing Javascript libraries to speed up their development process. Palm has made the right move by offering early access to its software development kit to a few key companies as well.

If it was as easy as Palm exclaimed, it would be interesting to see how Palm webOS will be able to compete with the likes of Android, iPhone and Windows Mobile.
