Samsung Electronics has just launched its new 2009 handset model SPH-W6450 also known as the Double Folder Phone in Korea for use with LG Telecom’s OZ 3G service. The two way clam shell, design was intended for people with the need for internet browsing and users can fold and unfold the phone vertically when calling or sending text messages as well as horizontally when watching DMB TV or other multimedia functions.
Features includes a 2.8 inch LCD screen, 3 megapixel camera, bluetooth 2.0, an electronic dictionary function, file viewer and others. It is only available in korea with a retail price of 600,000KRW around USD$410.

Marketed as the world’s slimmest full touch 8.0 megapixel camera phone, the Samsung M8800 Pixon measures 13.8mm thin with a 3.2 inch touchscreen at 240 x 400 resolution boasting WQVGA TFT LCD.
The camera has a 16x digital zoom, auto-focus, face detection, geotagging and even a dedicated photo browser to view and share the photos. Video can be captured at 30fps (720 x 480) resolution or 120fps (QVGA) and file formats include MPEG4, WMV, DivX and Xvid.
As a 3G handset, connectivity options include GSM, GPRS, EDGE and HSPDA at 7.2 Mbps. The Samsung M8800 Pixon has an internal memory of 200MB and a microSD card slot and plays music file in MP3, AAC, e-AAC+ and WMA format. It also features the TouchWiz user interface and uses the Samsung SRS Virtual Surround often found on the company’s television sets.

Samsung TouchWiz is a widget based touchscreen interface that will be coming to the US market in late 2008 and early 2009 through several full touchscreen devices such as the F480 amd i900 Omnia. Above shows the Korean popular launched Anycall Haptic that uses the TouchWiz UI which sold more than 75,000 units in the first three weeks.
The TouchWiz has specially designed widgets which you can customize and personalize the way they are used. Users can simply drag and drop widgets onto the phone home screen.

The Samsung M4650 - the iPhone-like all touchscreen Windows Mobile Smartphone that allows Marvell PXA 300 Application Processor, has started its shipment in Korea and is available on Korea’s LG Telecom Network. This advanced application processor enables users to combine both business and pleasure.
Other specifications of the Samsung M4650 include a 2.0 megapixel camera, TV T-DMB receiver, LCD Touch Screen and Bluetooth connectivity. However, there has been no information on whether it comes with WiFi or “multi-touch” functionality.

The Samsung SGH-P180 is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) cellphone that supports EDGE/GPRS. On top of that, it has UMA Technology that allows the user to seamlessly switch between GSM and Wi-Fi networks even when the user is talking on the phone. There are very few such phones in the market as well as few carriers supporting this technology.
Orange France is currently offering the service naming it “unik” and gets the sleek Samsung SGH-P180 phone this service.
