Sharp IS01 Android MID Coming To Japan
The Sharp IS01 is not a smartphone but a handheld device which is capable of making phone calls through speaker phone mode. It comes with Android 1.6 even though version 2.1 has been around for some time (I’m sure this will be upgradable in the future).
Specs of the Sharp IS01 include a 5 inch 960 x 480 pixel resolution, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 5.3 megapixel rear camera and a 0.4 megapixel camera behind, 4GB internal memory, microSD memory card slot and even 1Seg TV tuning support.
Two versions of the mobile internet device (MID) will be available - a developer-oriented version in May and the public available version ready for the au network in October. Still a pretty long way to go and there is no word on the pricing.
