Sony Ericsson had just unveiled a new addition to the XPERIA family - the XPERIA Pureness codenamed ‘Kiki’. Highly stylish and sleek, it will be focusing on the design rather than the technology. Without full specs released from Sony Ericsson however we do know that the XPERIA Pureness features a transparent monochrome display and supports quad-band GSM/EDGE networks and supports Bluetooth. It will be hitting selected retail channels in key cities around the world sometime in November 2009.

Sony Ericsson is releasing a Cosmopolitan Flower edition of the W595 phone targetted for the ladies. White in color with red flower patterns, it also comes with a ‘flower power’ theme along with five full songs preloaded.

Sony Ericsson W595 Cosmopolitan Flower Edition will be available in selected countries of Western Europe from March 2009 and its a pity Valentine’s Day is over since it would make such a perfect gift for that occasion.

Sony Ericsson W995 Video Tour From MWC 2009

The guys at Mobile Choice takes a first look at the Sony Ericsson W995, the latest walkman phone which was unveiled at the GSMA Mobile World Congress held on 16-19 Feb 2009 in Barcelona.

The phone in Cosmic Silver looks similar to other phones in the walkman series and this demo takes a look at the different features such as wifi connectivity, GPS services, walkman player, auto rotation, video bar with sony xmb style icons, built in stand. Price has not been revealed yet for this phone.

The Sony Ericsson W995 is the new phone that tries to combine cyber-shot technology with the walkman to become one of the high end handset for the company. With an 8.1 megapixel camera, the days are near when your phone and camera merged into one for the highest quality picture and sound available in a mobile phone.

The phone will ship during Q1 this year in the available colours of Cosmic Silver, Energetic Red and Progressive Black. Features include of course the 8.1 megapixel camera that could use up to 16x digital zoom, face detection, 2.6 inch display, 62,144 colour TFT, scratch-resistant 240 x 320 pixels, 3.5mm audio jack, internal memory up to 118mb, video recording, built in stand, clear stereo and bass speakers, shake control, wifi connectivity, GSSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UTMS/HSPA 900/2100, memory stick micro and talk time for GSM/GPRS up to 9 hrs with standby time GSM/GPRS up to 370 hrs.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - Four New Panels Announced

Sony Ericsson unveiled four new panels for its touchscreen phone the Xperia X1 that will be available somewhere in March. The panels are sort of a ‘homepage’ screen where content that the user want would be displayed at the forefront and the Xperia X1 already comes preloaded with panels such as Google Search, Facebook and Windows Live. The new panels announced are - CNN, Skype Mytopia and ‘On the Road’.

Information on each panel from the press:

- A new CNN panel keeps you constantly updated with the latest news, sport, or weather and a host of CNN content including access to CNN’s popular citizen journalism tool, ‘i-Report’. Browse information by category, personalise your experience or plug in your location and get instant updates for wherever you are in the world.

- A unique Skype panel brings quick access to Skype on the X1, telling you at a glance which of your friends are online. Browse easily through your contacts and call or instant message them in just a couple of clicks, or customise your handset using the evening, daylight or event based effects.

- For those who just want to have fun, a new Mytopia panel lets you play bingo and poker games with people around the world. With millions of users there is always someone online to play against or you can play by yourself. You can even collect virtual coins and improve your rank by winning live matches.

- For those always on the move, the specially developed “On the Road” panel includes large touch icons and a simple layout. Offering direct access to your music playlists and tracks, navigation tools and easy to use call-handling, this panel will makes your driving convenient and entertaining wherever the road takes you.

Sony Ericsson loves to paint their handsets with new colors giving old handsets a new look and feeling. The Sony Ericsson K850 is now available in all black with slight silver and metallic grey keys and looks more mysterious than ever. The black colour also makes the phone looks slimmer especially for a phone that is rather thick. It won’t be surprising if Sony Ericsson releases another few lines of this model in different colors but the K850 in Black is definitely a stand out.

Sony Ericsson K660i Phone Released In UK

The Sony Ericsson K660i has been launched recently in the UK, being a handset that is optimized for Web browsing especially with its navigation key acting as a “magnetic mouse pointer” thus giving it a PC browsing experience. It also features illuminated shortcut keys that become active upon Internet surfing.

Users get an option to browse in landscape mode while zooming in and out on text and images. The Sony Ericsson K660i comes with a 2.0 megapixel Camera with 4x digital zoom, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated FM radio, sound recorder, and a M2 memory card slot.

Only available in Q1 2008, each of its purchase will come with a 256MB M2 memory stick.
