LG Versa VX9600 Launched For Verizon

Verizon and LG has teamed up to release the LG Versa smartphone on 1st March which attempts to unseat the Apple iPhone 3G from its throne as king of choice of touch screen phone. It also comes with a full Qwerty keyboard if texting is needed.

Verizon claimed that customers can personalize their LG Versa phones based on their messaging needs - either attach the QWERTY keypad to their phones or leave the keypad at home. The home screen, the company said “is transformed into a sizzling, animated 3-D interface and customers can quickly customize three different home screens with their favorite shortcuts.”. It also features a built in accelerometer that rotates the screen automatically from portrait to landscape mode. The HTML Web browser includes Flash and RSS support and customers can keep up to three windows open.

In addition, the LG Versa comes packed with Verizon Wireless V Cast Music with Rhapsody and V CAST Video services. V CAST Music with Rhapsody allows customers to purchase more than 5 million full songs over-the-air, download the master copy of their songs to their PCs free of digital rights management (DRM) software and sync their favorite tracks, albums and playlists
The LG Versa also support productivity tools such as Visual Voice Mail to keep people more productive and prioritize their messages.

Features of the phone includes 3 inch touchscreen (OLED with 480 x 240 resolution), 2 megapixel camera with two times zoom, camcorder, autofocus, flash and image editor, a microSD memory port with up to 16 GB support, Bluetooth 2.1. It measures 4.16 x 2.07 x 0.54 inches and the device offers up to 290 minutes of usage time with up to 430 hours of standby time.

BlackBerry Storm Phone

The BlackBerry Storm is RIM’s answer to the iPhone with its all-touchscreen keyboard smart phone and it was just announced for Verizon Wireless. Specs include 480-360 screen 184 pixel per inch, comes with 8GB microSD card, supports stereo Bluetooth and runs on Verizon’s EV-DO 3G Network. It still retains its BlackBerry application features such as Office document editing, full email search and Exchange support.

Samsung U940 - Taking A Glimpse

Samsung U940 will be making its way to Verizon Wireless soon however it will not come with the same user interface as found on F700, its GSM counterpart. The image of the Home Screen shows the similarity to the Croix interface used in F700 except for slight changes in the menu. Besides, as the Samsung U940 is still an early prototype, the final version is still subject to changes. Features that have been confirmed include a mere 2.0 megapixel camera, a widescreen display that reacts only to touch by finger and not any other input devices.

LG Voyager To Kill The iPhone

LG Electronics has just unveiled the LG Voyager that was inevitable dubbed as LG’s iPhone killer. Using touch screen technology, it offers faster wireless access and has a full web browser. It also comes equipped with a two megapixel camera and a mini keypad for those who prefer the physical touch of a keyboard. Verizon Wireless has already took up the exclusive rights and did not comment on how much the LG Voyager phone would go on sale or when it will be released.
