HTC Q1 Profits Up 19.3% Compared To Last Year Q1

HTC Logo

Taiwan based HTC recently reported that their first quarter revenues of NT$37.7 billion (US1.2 billion) is up by 19.3% compared to last year first quarter thanks to better than expected smartphone sales. The net profit was NT$5.03 billion ($158 million) with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$6.42 ($0.20).

However when compared to Q4 last year, revenues were down 8 percent and net profits down by 9.2 percent. This is expected since holiday season sales are always the strongest. HTC’s outlook is optimistic and with the upcoming release of the HTC Desire, EVO and Incredible - we will be expecting HTC to have strong sales in the rest of the quarters as well.
