iDisplay App Allows Secondary Screens With iPad or iPhone

iDisplay

If you’re one of those who uses Apple and secondary screens, the iDisplay is the app for you. It can tranform your iPad or iPhone into a secondary monitor for your Mac via Wifi. Since the data is sent via Wifi the latency would not allow smooth play of videos or games. It would be ideal for applications such as instant messaging, document processing and image editing.

According to Head of Development Alex Makarov of Shape Services:

“iDisplay grew out of an in-house idea. All of us have two or more monitors on our systems at our workplace. It was natural to make an external monitor out of our iPhone devices.” Makarov pointed out that external hardware monitors represent a significant investment compared to using a spare iPad or iPhone, plus these devices are highly portable, adding extra screen space on-the-go.

It cost $4.99 and though it is not as stable as it should be, we’ll be looking at updates of the app soon.
